Sell your Shopify catalogue through Vio in a few minutes — no code required. This guide covers installing the Vio Sync app, connecting your store, syncing your products, and receiving orders back.
Who this is for — Shopify merchants who want their products available in Vio. You’ll do everything from your Shopify admin and the Vio dashboard.
Before you start
Make sure you have:
- A Shopify store on any plan.
- A Vio API key — sign up at your Vio dashboard to get one.
- At least one product in your store (you need products to sync).
How it works
Once you connect your store, Vio keeps your catalogue in sync and delivers your orders back:
- You choose which products to export — titles, prices, stock, variants and images sync to Vio.
- Your products become shoppable inside Vio’s network of publisher apps and articles.
- When a shopper places an order, it’s delivered straight to your Shopify store.
Step 1 · Install the app
Find the app
In the Shopify App Store, search for Vio Sync and open the listing.

Install
Click Install. Shopify shows the permissions Vio Sync is requesting — review them and approve to finish installing.

Step 2 · Get your Vio API key
Find or create your API key from your Vio dashboard — click Open Vio dashboard from the app’s connect screen, or go there directly.
Keep your API key private — it links your store to your Vio account. Treat it like a password.
Step 3 · Connect your store
Vio Sync opens on Connect to Vio. Paste your Vio API key and click Connect.

Shows: the “Welcome to Vio Sync” connect screen, with the Vio API key field, the
Connect button, and the “Find your API key in your Vio dashboard” link.
Once connected, a confirmation dialog appears and you land on Products.

Step 4 · Sync your products
On the Products screen, select the products you want to sell on Vio and click Export selected. Exports run through a queue — each product’s badge flips to ✓ Exported within a few seconds, without reloading the page.

Shows: selecting products, clicking Export selected, and badges turning to
✓ Exported. ~20–30 s.
What syncs: title, price, stock, variants and images. Only the products you explicitly select are exported — nothing syncs automatically on install.
Step 5 · Receiving orders
Orders placed through Vio are delivered to your Shopify store automatically — they appear in Shopify → Orders like any other order, so inventory and fulfillment stay in your normal workflow. There’s no extra setup: the app registers the order webhooks for you during connection.
Managing your catalogue
From Products, use the search field, the Status filter (All statuses / Active / Draft / Archived) and the export filter (All products / Exported to Vio / Not exported) to find what you need, then select products and:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Export selected | Push the selected products to Vio. |
| Remove selected | Remove the selected products from Vio (with a confirmation step). |
Open Connection & log at any time to see your connection status (store, Vio account, API reachability, products exported) and the list of everything currently exported.

Shows: the Connection & log screen — connection status (store, Vio account “Connected”, Vio API “Reachable”, products exported) and the export log.
Disconnecting
To disconnect, open Connection & log and click Disconnect from Vio. This removes the connection between your store and Vio — your products stop being sold on Vio.
Troubleshooting
Can’t connect / key is rejected — double-check the API key you pasted matches your Vio dashboard exactly, with no extra spaces.
Vio API shows “Unreachable” — open Connection & log and click Re-check. If it stays unreachable, try again in a few minutes.
Orders don’t arrive — orders only sync back for products that were exported through Vio Sync. Confirm the product shows ✓ Exported on the Products screen.
